In power industry, SA213-T91 steel are widely used in superheater and reheater of utility boiler. A flux-cored wire for SA213-T91 steel is developed, which can be used for all-position welding and featured with high weld performance confirmed by weld procedure evaluation. Comparing with solid welding wire, it can realize molten-slag protection at backside of molten pool, so as to avoid the complicated backside argon-fill protection. Moreover, the high temperature endurance performance of the welded joint is also better than that using solid welding wire.Through the comparison of the designed welding technics, the technics with flux-cored wire as rendering material and solid welding wire as filling and surface material is choosed. The heat treatment adopted infrared heater and two-hour heating time. The technics not only get rid of the complicated backside argon-fill protection, but also avoid the process of clearing welding slag. And it raises the rapid of weld. The mechanical performance is satisfied, so the technics satisfy the practical demand. And the heat treatment equipment which can be used in locale is safe and reliable. This flux-cored wire, therefore, can substitute solid welding wire to weld SA213-T91 steel in power engineering. In a word, the technics is advanced and adapt to the examine and repair locale.
