In this thesis, we study on the operational aspects of MBR in the case of normal condition and the non-filamentous sludge bulking condition. The experiment fell into three phases. In the first phase of the experiment, we study on the operational aspects of MBR in the case of normal condition, in which condition the value of maximum SVI is about 80mL/g. We study the influence of the operational aspects on the membrane fouling and monitor the quality of the outflow. In the second phase of the experiment, we study on the operational aspects of MBR when the proportion of the BOD:N is 100:3, in which condition the value of maximum SVI is about 240mL/g. And we study the influence of the operational aspects on the membrane fouling and monitor the quality of the outflow. In the third phase of the experiment, we study on the operational aspects of MBR when the proportion of the BOD:N is 100:1, in which condition the value of maximum SVI is about 400mL/g. And we study the influence of the operational aspects on the membrane fouling and monitor the quality of the outflow. We can draw the conclusion from above analysis, when the nutrition is sufficient, the MBR is in good condition. When the balance of the nutrition is broken, the removal efficiency of COD is lower than the normal condition. We will choose the reasonable operational aspects according to the different conditions.
