| The premium petroleum coke, is an important material mainly used in production of anti-thermal-shrunk graphite and ultra-high power(UHP)electrode. With the rapid development of astronautic industry and steel-making industry, the requirement of premium coke in domestic market increased gradually. Our supply of premium coke mainly depends on importing owing to lagged technology in production, low yield and unstable quality of premium coke in China. Therefore, developing production technology of premium coke can satisfy the increasing need of domestic market and make a great profits.This paper reviewed the production background of premium coke both in domestic and in abrod and analyzed the practical problems in industrialized production of premium coke in Jinzhou Petrochemical Company. The ash content in decant oil is regarded as the most important factor affecting product quality. Based on comparison of different techniques and requirement of premium coke material, this paper utilizes filtration method to decrease the ash of feedstock in order to further improve the quality of premium coke.Firstly, a set of experimental filter was built up according to PALL filter technique. And then the experiments of removing catalyst particles from feedstock and decreasing the content of ash were made. The factors (feeding temperature,feeding rate and soaking time) affecting filtration were investigated and optimized. Rational filter processing parameters were obtained. The influence of ash contents on filtration and resumption of initial pressure drop of the filter after blowing back were also investigated. It provided basis for further designing of filter equipment.It also reformed filter technique of fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) slurry by partially circulating the filtrate back to the feed in order to control the contents of ash.
