Some borate crystals appear noticeable excellent performance due to their variety of structure. So many researchers are interested in these borate, they regard the borate to the new kind of nonlinear optical materials. But it is hard to grow borate single crystal of high quality at present. Use for reference of YAG, we are turn to the research on borate transparent ceramic, hope to get another high quality of optical material. But for the time limited, this dissertation is major in the process of the YAl3(BO3)4 powder.Solid-phase synthesis, sol-gel, evaporation of its nitrate solution are used in this thesis. YAl3(B03)4 can be made at 1200℃, compared the temperature is at 1100℃,pure orthoborate has built prepared by sol-gel. And the diameter is 2μm but 5μm by solid-phase synthesis. Both the diameters of the crystal are not similar, but the powder made by sol-gel is more homogeneous. The process of the evaporation of its nitrate solution is simple, the macroscopical result is good oppositely. But the powder token by the SEM is not good enough. So much further researches should be done next.
