Digital image inpainting is an important branch of image restoration field. It can deal with image, photo or film,and let their damaged region was renewed, removed or replaced the objects chosen in the picture through the algorithm. The aim of inpainting is to get a better vision result when observing the image. The main principle is to use the neighboring information of inpaintin region or the former and the later frame information to fill in the damaged region. The jet printing technique is a kind of high technique .This topic mainly aims at the damaged image it must be inpainted on jet printing through total variation model(TV),the quality will be improved. It especially has very important significance on jet printing.This paper extends the image processing theory to image inpainting field, and discusses on relevant theories of total variation. We apply the image restoring theory and establish the image inpainting model based on total variation according to principle frame of best guess theory and Bayesian structure system. We let it in the use of removing noise and keeping image part edge, at the same time with the characteristics of empty awaiting inpainting field of narrow strip, we adjust the key parameter of influencing the inpainted result of image edge and the extent of diffusion .The algorithm reduces the accumulation of error, improves the executive efficiency, and gets the image inpainting results. Experimental result indicates that the method can be capable of applying on jet printing and obtains better inpainting result.
