The Study On Determination Of Anthracene In Coar Tar Crude Anthracene And Naphthalene In Coar Tar By Capillary Gas Chromatography

The anthracene in the coal tar crude anthracene is an important chemical raw material which means much to dyestuff,palette,emulsifier,medicine,pesticide and wetting-out agent. However, it is a waste of resources that most of the crude anthracene in China were sold as raw materials in a low price. At the present time, the main method of measuring the content of anthracene in coal tar crude anthracene is the international standard one. But this method, because of its complex process, not only takes too much time but also is a disadvantage to the analysts' health on account of the heavy contamination. This dissertation put forward the method for the determination of anthracene in coal tar crude anthracene using capillary gas chromatography. The capillary gas chromatographic method was developed by using a DB-5 capillary column(30m×0.32mm i.d.×0.25μm),a detection of flame ionization detection (FID) and a programmed temperature(oven temperature increased with a rate of 40℃/min from 140 to 170℃, maintained it for 6 mins, and then increased with a rate of 60℃/min from 170 to 300℃, maintained it for 5 mins).Using chlorobenzene as solvent, phenazine as internal standard, contents of anthracene in crude anthracene were determined by internal standard method. The results showed that every composition in crude anthracene could be well separated and eleven compounds were identified. The method was simple, rapid, accurate and easy to be applied. The results also showed high accuracy and precision. The recoveries of anthracene in crude anthracene were from 98.43% to 100.73%,the relative standard deviations of the determining results were 0.111%~0.911%.The total time needed for sample analysis was no more than 15 mins. Meanwhile, a method called the determination of capillary gas chromatography was developed for the determination of naphthalene in coal tar.This method,spurned the traditional way in favor of improving the production, can not only provide convenience for the analyzing and controlling of the product quality but also predigest the process of on-site analysis and operation regulation in the factory.
