The first rolling width formula of flat wire has inferred in this article by mathematics and mechanics means, and has examined with the experimental statistics. The influential width factors have been discussed, and two kinds of different stainless steels have been compared in the organization and the performance change of the round steel wires rolling process.The mathematical model is ΔB = -b-(b2 -4c)1/2 in this article. The parameters meaning are as follows:The results show that:(1) When the ratio of distortion region is bigger than 3, the mathematical model has the better forecast precision, that means, the error is about 10 percent. The computation precision of the formula in this paper is equal to the M.Kazeminezhad formula.(2) The influential width factors have been discussed. It is pointed out that presses factor and rolling extensity to the flattened wire width has a more tremendous influence. In the course of processing, controlling width should be first calculated. (3) The mechanics performance and the organization of the round steel wire and flattened wire has been discussed briefly through the experiment..(4) The each part of micro hardness has a bigger difference through rolling.
