In recent years , with development of textile industry , the discharge amount of dyeing and printing wastewater is very abundant and could not be treated effectively with traditional method for its deep color , poor biochemical degradation and complicated components. Using advanced Oxidation Technology (AOTs) dispose this kind of hard-destructed wastewater is becoming one of the worldwide concerned research thesis. The mechanism of sono-degradation of organic contamination and the way of degradation was firstly dissertated in the paper. Some basic factors which can influence the efficiency of degradation, such as ultrasonic frequency, power, viscidity, temperature, dissolved gas were analyzed; It summarized that the achievement and using prospect of ultrasound in the field of water disposal. A resonant kinetic model of ultrasonic degradation to organic compounds was analyzed. It is very important to understand the mechanism of sono-degradation deeply.Based on sonochenmical theory, the mechanism and experimental research of sonication of methyl orange and acid brilliant scarlet GR dyestuff in aqueous solution, chosen as model of basic dye, was studied.The valuable results of experiment were obtained as follows:(1) Ultrasonic degradation experiment to methyl orange and acid brilliant scarlet GR dyestuff in aqueous solution was studied. The research focused on the effects of initial-concentration, pH value, blast on the degradation. The result indicated the decolorization of methyl orange and acid brilliant scarlet GR dyestuff follows first-order reaction kinetics and the main mechanism of sonolysis is oxidation by·OH radical. The way of degradation of methyl orange is deduced elementarily.(2)The effects of ultrasound/Fenton reagent process on decomposition of methyl orange were also carried out. The result shows that with ultrasound solely, the decolorization was low to initial-concentration of 100mg/L methyl orange aqueous solution; ultrasound/Fenton reagent process on decomposition of methyl orange are very effective,which is better than ultrasound and Fenton reagent. Under this experiment condition, the optimal technical parameters about using the ultrasound/Fenton reagent process on decomposition of methyl orange are achieved, which will provide theoretic parameters for using this technology in engineering application.
