Iron-containing pillared clays(PILCs) were prepared by ionexchange method from Na-montmorillonite. CuFe-PILC catalyst was prepared by doping technology during the preparation process of pillaring agent. The catalysts were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, DTA, TGA and N2-adsorption/desorption. The results indicated that pillaring agents were successfully inserted into the layers of montmorillonite and surface area of the obtained catalysts was changed from 37.3 m2/g to nearly 150m2/g. The PILCs catalysts can keep steady under the calcined temperature 600°C.The preparation conditions of catalyst, such as the ratio of [0H]/[M], the ratio of nM/mclay, temperature of the preparation process of pillaring agent, etc., were studied. Its performance as catalyst in heterogeneous catalytic wet hydrogen peroxide oxidation(CWPO ) of phenol was evaluated, and the most suitable treatment conditions of catalysts CWPO process was confirmed. Compared to other catalysts, conditions of reaction, suitable pH values range, stability of catalyst was great enhanced and iron-containing pillared clays can be reused for long times. A total elimination of phenol under mild conditions at the concentration of 250mg/L was observed. Take the removal of phenol as target to disscuss the reaction kinetics, and got some corresponding parameters of CWPO process. From the analysis results of remainder of the CWPO process by HPLC, the possible route was deduced.
