As a binder of foundry practice, furan resin which has high strength dimensional accuracy hardening speed high efficiency low intensity of labor, is used widely in actual production. However, furan resin made domestically has strong odor and high volume of free formol. The price of furfuryl alcohol is high all along, so the price of furan resin is also high, which had limited the widely use of furan resin in some way.Stemming from the above reason, the topic optimized the synthesis craft of furfural resin first. Through the research of several factors which could effects the quality of furan resin, I designed a group of orthogonal experiment. Through the analysis of experimental data, a optimized craft is obtained: The temperature of alkaline reaction is 100℃. The time of alkaline reaction is 1.5h. The pH of alkaline reaction is 10. The temperature of acid reaction is 100℃. The time of acid reaction is 1h. The pH value of acid reaction is 6. The quantities of dehydration is 70% of formaldehyde. In order to confirm the quality of the resin, the resin was tested: The intensity in 24h is 2.23 MPa. The content of formaldehyde is 0.47%. The viscosity is 54 mpa . s. Through the optimization of the proportion of rough materials to make sure the formaldehyde is react sufficiently. Carbamide, a fluid named K and the oxidized starch are also added in. At last the content of formaldehyde in the resin is under 0.1%. To reduce the price of the resin, lignine ethanol and xylit are added in to replace part of furfuryl alcohol. The results indicate that the performance of resin which is partly replaced by xylitan could fulfill the request of factories. The intensity of the resin sand is increased more or less. Finally I use the mixture of xylit ethanol and modifying agents to replace furfuryl alcohol. The intensity of the resin sand in 24h reached 2.42Mpa. Through calculate the cost of these rough materials, we get that the price of furan resin which is partly replaced is reduced 790 yuan a ton. Because there are many furan resin produced during one year. So the benefit is significant. It also promotes the development of furan resin. So the subject we studied is yieldgood economic benefits and social significance.
