In the process of hot-galvanize, melting zinc generate corrosion in manufacturing facility, such as zinc boiler. It can bring a series of problems. In this paper, we do some corrosion experiments about melting zinc on steel. It shows that a strong chemical reaction between Zn and Fe was produced, which cause a large consumption of Zn, generate Zn-Fe compound and produce zincilate. These zincilate mainly contain phaseζand phaseδ. There is a ideal measure at the present time to solve the corrosion problem which is to be applying resistant coating to material surface. This paper mainly discuss corrosion mechanics of plasma spraying Al2O3 in melting zinc and the effect of thermal shock of ceramic coating on the resistance corrosion of melting zinc. The corrosion experiment about melting zinc on plasma spraying Al2O3 have been done. It shows the action of Al2O3 ceramic coating and reactivity wetting between Al2O3 ceramic coating and melting zinc. Analyzed by SEM and XRD there are some compounds that are production resulting from reaction between melting zinc and Al2O3 ceramic coating and the reason of generating compounds is studied by wetting theory of free energy in interface reaction. For studying the effect of thermal shock of ceramic coating on the resistance corrosion of melting zinc, a series of thermal shock experiments have been done. Analyzed by SEM and XRD, it indicated that the accession of FeCrAl or Al bond coating alleviate efficiently thermal stress of the coatings interface, and restrict crack formation and spread interface the coatings, thus increase the resistance of thermal shocks of coatings, the initiation and spreading of crack are also studied. We do the inactivation experiments of flaw coating, and study inactivation process by SEM.
