Second generation adhesive (SGA) is a good performance adhesive, comprised by acrylics monomer or prepolymer, polymer elastomer, initiator, accelerator and some additives. Long chain saturated acrylics prepolymer is a substitute for polymer elastomer in this paper.Acrylics is an important category of viscoelasticity and is widely used in applications dues to its excellent adhesive character, mechanical character, chemical stability, innocuity and low cost. In this paper preparation, the reaction condition, the kinds of the acrylic monomers and the ratio of the ingredients were studied. It is found that the optimum ratio ofacrylics are as follows: methyl methacrylate, butyl acrylate (BA), comonomer methacrylic acid and methylol acrylamide, benzoperoxide(BPO) as initiator. Divide the material into two parts, charging them in different order. The optimum reaction temperature is 80~85℃, reaction time is 2.5~3h.Epoxy acrylics molecular structure contains double bond, which could initiate polyreaction under radical intitator. Mix the novel acrylics and epoxy acrylics(EA) together. Both advantages were kept, shortcomings were overcomed, e.g. poor adhesion, slow solidifying speed. The brittleness under low temperature of epoxy acrylics was improved.Proportion and dosage of the acrylics and EA was studied in this paper; the effect of oxidation-reduction reactive system on curing time, tensile strength, storage stability were studied in this paper; the effect of reactive diluent on tensile strength were also studied in this paper.Two-component features performance can be easily adjusted; pretreatment could be conducted more extensively as oil-surface bonding; widely scope of application.
