In this study it was proved that cross-linked netlike structure existed in the cushioning material made plant fibers by analyzed the images tested from digital microscope, infrared spectrum instrument and scanning electron microscope. The buffering properties of the cushioning material were tested by the methods of static compression, creep and many times experiments of compress-rebound, and the results were shown as follows:1. By analyzing the images tested from digital electron microscope, infrared spectrum and scanning electron microscope, chamber structures were formed and plant fibers appear cross-linked in cushioning material. It was indicated that cross-linked netlike structure and open porosity structure existed in the cushion material, and formation principle of cushioning materials was proved.2. Average residual strain can be restored about 58% after that the material was compressed limitedly by the static compression test. It was explained that the open structure of cushioning material has certain bond strength and the cushioning material has the good performance of recoverability.3. The limit creep value and residual strain value of cushioning material was changed with the change of inflating multiple by analyzing the test of creep. The bigger was inflating multiple, the bigger was the value of limit creep and residual strain. The cushioning material with big inflating multiple can be used as cushioning packing material of light object , moreover, the cushioning material with little inflation multiple can support heavy object.4. The porosities of cushioning material were shrunken and its shape was changed when the material was compressed by many times experiments of compress-rebound. It was indicated that the open structure of the cushioning material can absorb certain exterior energy and the cushioning material has performance of recoverability of the cushion packing material.
