50SiMnVB alloy steel is a new material in enginery industry. At the present time, the information associated with the dynamic behavior research of 50SiMnVB alloy steel is very few. Therefore the dynamic behavior research of 50SiMnVB alloy steelhas important meaning .Firstly effects of heat treatment on hardness of 50SiMnVB alloy steel is studied in this paper.Normalized 50SiMnVB alloy steel is quenched at 860?C and tempered at five different temperature : 200?C,300?C,400?C,500?C,600?C。And then the hardness of each one is tested. The results show that quenching can improve the hardness of normalized 50SiMnVB alloy steel, and the hardness of these samples is descending when the temperature of tempering ascend. Secondly three groups of the more big difference of the hardness are picked out in these samples. They are respectively normalized 50SiMnVB alloy steel and 50SiMnVB alloy steel tempered at 200?C and 600?C. The static and dynamic compress mechanical behaviors of them are studied with versatile material test machine(MTS) and a common split hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB) system respectively. The split Hopkinson pressure bar technique is extensively used to characterise material behaviour at high strain rate. The results exhibit that the yield stress increases when the strain rate is improved. This point illuminate that 50SiMnVB alloy steel is sensitive to the strain rate. In the same strain rate the highest yield stress is obtained for 50SiMnVB alloy steel tempered at 200?Cand the higher yield stress for 50SiMnVB alloy steel tempered at 600?C .The yield stress of normalized 50SiMnVB alloy steel is lowest, but its plastic is best in them and the plastic for 50SiMnVB alloy steel tempered at 200?C is worst in the same strain rate. 50SiMnVB alloy steel tempered at 200 C ? for dynamic compression experiment is destroyed in the form of cutting rupture at 45? .Thirdly J-C constitutive equation of 50SiMnVB alloy steel for room temperature is fitted in the base of compression test. In the end the impact process of dynamic compression is simulated with finite element analysis soft LS-DYNA3D.The consistency of theory analysis based on one dimension elastic wave theory and numerical simulation is verified.
