Flow stress of HAL60-1-1 aluminum brass alloy in the temperature range of 650℃~800℃and strain rate range of 0.01,0.1,1and 10S-1 was studied by isothermal compression test with Gleeble-1500 machine. Using an MHK-500 type tester measured their friction and wear properties under different conditions. The microstructure and surface micrograph were investigated by means of SEM, microprobe and TEM. The results are as follows:The results show that flow stress is controlled by strain rate and deformation temperature, the flow stress increases with strain rate increase, with the deformation temperature raise, the time reduction which the release of work hardening needs,the alloy distortion displays the more and more obvious dynamic recovery phenomenon.The microstructure of alloy shows that it consists of light-etching areas of a phase, which have a Widmanstatten morphology, a darker-etching matrix ofβphase, and rod-shaped manganese silicide particles with a hexagonal cross-section. The microstructure and properties of as-cast alloy was improved by homogenizing at 510℃for 6h, and the experimental alloy can get the best mechanical properties. Alloy yield strength also has certain improvement compared the cast condition alloy, the elongation ratio also had the distinct enhancement.The wear mechanisms of HAL60-1-1 aluminum brass alloy under dry friction condition were systematically investigated, As a result, uniform temperature extrusion condition alloy have excellent wear resistibility than cast condition. The main wear mechanism was adherence wear, and plastic deforming, fatigue fracture, and abrasive wear are also found in the alloy.At the basis of above research work foundation, the choice semifinished materials shape, the design extrusion mold, according to the formed craft parameter, carries on the experiment to extrude the bearing disk. The extrusion result indicated that, the metal flowing is even, but the table quality and mechanics performance conform to the design requirement.
