Rainwater is one of the most fundamental,direct and economical water,it is an important part of the natural water cycle system,and plays a crucial role in the regulation and supplementation of regional water resources as well as in the improving and the protection of ecological enviroment, Therefore the utilization of rainwater is a major way for sustainable development of water resources.The utilization of urban rainwater is new in China,it is an integrated multidisciplinary, complex system which is currently an issue in forefront,and has just been started.So far,in the field of urban water utilization,the study of rainwater storage material are few,but,with the acceleration of China's urbanization and the increasing awareness in environmental protection, the research and application of materials and technology for Rainwater Utilization will go faster and faster.The study of this task focuses on the present situation of water resources and the comparison among the methods of exploiting water resources now available,through this,the study spreads an idea that the utilization of rainwater is a major way to gain sustainable development and that considering the extensove social,environmental and,ecological benefits, the utilization of rainwater has considerable economic advantage over water transferring project and seawater desalination,and is of unmissable value,The water storage clay material is a key element in transforming urban rainwater into resources.Lay a certain thickness of the clay storage material under lawns for rain collection,then the colleted water can be used for irrigation or other uses.Based on the study of the preparation and main performance of water storage clay materials and a pilot application.a large-scale application of water storage clay material is proposed as a method to improve the environment,to maintain a good condition of water cycle the ecological system,and to gain sustainable development of cities.Specinc details are as follows:1．Study the influence of urbanization on rainwater utilization and relationship between them.urban rainwater utilization profiles,urban rainwater utilization technology and methods. Via the study of the present situation of water resources and the comparison among the methods of exploiting water resources now available.to prove the idea that the utilization of rainwater is a major way to gain sustainable development. 2．Study the preparation of porous materials and water storage clay materials,select the proper manufacturing technology and equipments base on the technology developed in laboratory and the production of a small amount of water storage clay material.3．Use water storage clay as filler material of the purification layer,filter low-polluted rainwater directly,study water storage clay materials'function on the purincation of rainwater and its functioning law.Discuss the mechanism of water storage clay materials'purifying function on pollutants in rainwater4．Through comparative experiments on permeability of water storage clay material and several other materials,the permeability of water storage clay materials is being studied,how water storage clay material absorbs and keeps water is being discussed.5．Study the practical application of water storage clay material by experimental cultivation of turf,which can show that water storage clay soil reduces moisture loss,obviously promotes plant growth,and displays excellent compatibility with external environment.。6．Conduct a study on the feasibility of using water storage clay material to transform rainwater into resources and analysis the social and economic benefits it generates.Use this data to manifest that the application of the water storage clay material is one of the most important way to take advantage of the urban rainwater,in addition,it also brings tremendous social and economic benenfits,which ensures its broad application prospects and market prospects.
