Recently, biological nutrient removal technology is always being the researchdevelopment and application focus in the domestic and foreign salinity wastewatertreatment domain. And new treatments are studied. It is sensitive in low temperaturefor nitrobacteria, so the studies are in normal temperature(25-35℃). And the study ofbiological nutrient removal is a few in low temperature.Seawater usually used to be thaw raw material, then producing a lot of lowtemperature and high salinity wastewater. Result of low temperature and high salinityrestraining the microorganism activity, biological treatment technology is not veryeffective, so in Order to improve the effects of the biological treatment under thecontain of low temperature and high salinity were studied in this paper.A new biolfilm-activated sludge process was described in this project. Thisprocess was suited to add the bacteria's quantity. The biological treatment effect onthe condition of different salinity and temperature was studied in this test by usingsuspend media SBR.The results showed that the biofilm-activated system was more stable and highefficient than traditional means in removal of organics and ammonia reduced. When the seawater was about 50 percent, with the dropping of temperature, theremoval of organics and ammonia decreased. But the biolfilm-activated with suspendmedia was better compared with traditional means. When wastewater was at tenCelsius degree, the suspend media system could get the removal of organics andammonia respectively above 80%, 55%; and when water was at 5 Celsius degree, thesuspend media system could get the removal of organics and ammonia respectivelyabove 60%, 40%.The experiments showed that with the increasing of salinity at 18 Celsius degree, when seawater was about 50%, the removal of organics and ammonia respectivelywas 90%, 92%; when the seawater was 70%, 85%.
