Fluoride and complex fluoride have attracted considerable attention because of their unique luminescence potential .Therefore, they are ideal host materials for fluorescence and laser materials. In this paper, firstly, the knowledge about the method of synthesis nanomaterials, and the progress of researched fluoride was introduced. Then, the size, shape-controlled BaF2,BaSiF6 nanoparticals were prepared in the presence of surfactant under hydrothemal conditions.Erbium-doped BaF2 nanoparticals were also synthesized. The samples'properties were studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and photoluminescence (PL) techniques. The cubic BaF2 nanoparticals were synthesized by hydrothermal method in the presence of cationic surfactant PVP and CTAB and shape, size-controlled of these particals have been achieved by varying the surfactant concentration. It is found that PVP could improve the quality BaF2 crystal, and CTAB could help to fabricate nanoscale crystals.Erbium-doped BaF2 nanoparticals were prepared by supersonic processing. The Er3+ were introduced into BaF2 crystal lattice by XRD, PL, UV/VIS/NIR absorption.Various shape and size of BaSiF6 were synthesized by a low temperature hydrothermal method using citric acid (CA) as a chelating agent and CTAB as a surfactant. The result indicates that CA and CTAB coaction have greatly impact on the form of BaSiF6 crystallites. It is possible to synthesis other complex fluoride nanostructures using this method.
