The nano-solid acidic catalyst SO42-/Fe2O3 was prepared by deposition- impregnation method in this paper. The structure and the acidity of the catalyst were characterized by means of TEM, FT-IR and NH3-TPD etc. The results show that the diameter of the SO42-/Fe2O3 solid acids product is nanosized crystallite with the diameter of 20-40nm. The solid acid has 4 kinds of surface acid sites of different intensity.The catalytic activity of the catalyst in liquefaction reaction of cornstalk was researched. Further more, the influences of reaction temperature, reaction time and dosage of catalyst etc. were investigated. Direct liquefaction of corn stalk was carried out in an 250ml autoclave. And the liquid production was mensurated by IR. The results shown that the catalyst gained by roasting for 3h under temperature 550℃was good for the liquefaction reaction of cornstalk. Under the conditions, that is, the reaction temperature is 260℃, the initial hydrogen pressures is 1.0MPa, and the reaction time is 1h, the conversion of cornstalk can be up to 88%.A series of metal-ions-doped SO42-/Fe2O3 acids were prepared by impregnated FeO(OH) using diluted nickel sulfate, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate and aluminium sulfate etc. The influences of different metal-ions to the catalytic activity of the catalyst were investigated by the liquefaction reaction of cornstalk. The results shown that the samples doped by Ni2+ and Zn2+ show higher catalytic activity than SO42-/Fe2O3. When catalyzed by Ni2+/SO42-/Fe2O3 the conversion of cornstalk can be up to 86.4% at the temperature of 240℃.
