The synthesis of six sterically demandingβ-diketiminato ligands (L-H) {[(2,6-1Pr2C6H3) N=C(CH3) CH=C(R1) NR2] H (R1= Me, R2= (R)-1-Phenylethyl, (R)-(L-1) H; R1= Phenyl, R2= (R)-1-Phenylethyl, (R)-(L-2) H; R1= Me, R2= 1-Phenylethyl, (L-l)H; R1= Phenyl, R2= 1-Phenylethyl, (L-2) H; R1= Me, R2 = 1-(1-Naphthyl)ethyl, (L-3) H; R1= Phenyl, R2= 1-(1-Naphthyl)ethyl, (L-4) H)} are described. These ligands were converted to L-ZnN(SiMe) and L-AlMe complexes by reaction with Zn[N(SiMe)] and AlMe in toluene, repeatively. Element analysis, 1H NMR and EI-MS were employed to characterize these complexes.Complex (R)-(L-2) ZnN(SiMe3) 2 has been employed for catalysis performance study of ring-open polymerization of lactide.
