ABSTRACT: Aerobic granulation is a highly porous and compact material. It is a potential absorbent, Beacause it possesses good adsorption capability and excellent sedimentation capability ,comparing to traditional biology sorbent.Consequently, aerobic granulation can conquer the disadvantage of traditional biology sorbent which is unease to separate from effluent after adsorbing. Physical chemistry adsorption is the primary adsorption mechanism, this dissertation investigated the adsorbability of aerobic granulation for heavy metal ions in order to study the possibility of using aerobic granulation absorbent for waste water treatment. The adsorption of Pb (â…¡),Cd (â…¡),Hg (â…¡),Ni (â…¡) and Cr (â…¥) by aerobic granulation cultivated in Sequencing Batch Reactor from aqueous solution was investigated. A systematic study was carried out to investigate influence of diferent co nditions on the adsorption.,such as pH value, initial concentration, temperature, dosage of aerobic granulation etc.It determined the optimal adsorption conditions. We gave evaluation and predictions on adsorption characteristic of aerobic granulation for heavy metal ions by comparing Langmuir model and Freundlich model.According to the actual condition, the most wastewater has not only a sort of heavy metal ion. So,it is very improtant to study on adsorption performance of heavy metal to activated sludge in the poly-species heavy metal coexist mode.We comfirmed its jamming effect to aimed ion by increasing disturbing ion concentration.
