Cyclodextrins have a hydrophobic cavity and hydrophilic interface.Due to this structure, cyclodextrins have ability to form inclusioncomplexes with numerous molecules. They are widely used in the fieldsof chromatographic separation, selective catalysis, food, andpharmaceutics and pesticides industries. The polymers contain manycyclodextrins units are called cyclodextrin polymer (CDP). CDP not onlyhave the abilities to inclusion, but also have well mechanic intensity, stability, solubility and adjustable character in chemical reaction. In thispaper, there kinds of cyclodextrin polymers were synthesized based onmolecular design, than used a glucose enzymatic electrode to quantifycyclodextrins in cyclodextrin polymers. The inclusion complexationbehavior of CDPs with dye molecules was investigated by mean offluorescence.Content and result of this dissertation are as following:1.Monomers were first synthesized including tosyl substituted andcarrying reactive group of 6-OTs-β-CD, which can react with somefunctional polymers. CDPs of cyclodextrin-poly (p-aminopolystyrene)and PVM-cyclodextrin-poly(vinylamine) can be synthesized through thisroute. 6-(methylacryloylaminoethyl) amino-6-β-CD (6-MAA-EDA-β-CD)carrying vinyl group which can polymerized with other functional monomers were also synthesized. The results indicated6-MAA-EDA-β-CD can be obtained by using dicyclohexylcarbodiimide(DCC) as condensation agent with a higher yield. CDP can be acquiredvia use 6-MAA-EDA-β-CD co-polymerized with metharylic acid.2. An amperometric glucose biosensor was proposed for quantifyingcyclodextrin units in cyclodextrin polymer. It was found that a goodlinear relationship exists between the quantity of cyclodextrin and theresponse current of the enzymatic electrode. Compared with theconventional Sulfate-Phenol method, the relative deviation of thedetermination results from the two methods is within 8%. Furthermore, the enzyme electrode is very robust and can be used repeatedly withinone month without obvious deterioration in its response performance.3. The inclusion complexation behavior of CDPs with dye moleculeswas investigated by mean of fluorescence in phosphate buffer solution(pH~7.2). The result obtained indicated that CDPs can insignificantlyenhance the original binding ability. The equilibrium constants weredetermined by the experimental results. The apparent thermodynamicparameters were also obtained and the results suggested that van derWaals force was the major driving force for the inclusion system.
