Study on magnetic carrier technology and the application especially inwastewater treatment in recent years has been reviewed, and the great prospect ofapplication has been viewed in this thesis. The work of this thesis is as following:1. The treatment of Cu2+ by the functional polymer magnetic carriers wasstudied in this thesis. The suitable condition of removing Cu2+ by functionalpolymer magnetic carriers was discussed, and the study shows that pH, the density ofeffluent and the mass of magnetic polymer microspheres have big influences in theremoval efficiency, but the time of stirring and the speed of stirring do not. WhenpH=7.0 and the suspension was stirred and shaken on a horizontal automatic shakerfor 2h, the removal efficiency can attain over 96%.2. In this thesis, the decoloration effect has been studied by treating themalachite green solution with functional polymer magnetic carriers. The effects ofadsorption time, input quantity, temperature, pH value were discussed, and thedecoloring effect of functional polymer magnetic carriers were compared with thoseof unfunctional polymer magnetic carriers, the magnetite (Fe3O4) particles and activecarbon. The result shows that, after 8 hours' treatment, decoloring rate of thefunctional polymer magnetic carriers can reach 97%, which is similar to that of theactivated carbon. Furthermore, functional polymer magnetic carrier can easily beseparated from water under a magnetic field outside, which effectively solved theproblem of traditional decoloring materials' difficulty to be separated from wastewater.Functional polymer magnetic carrier is a new type sorbent of dyestuff that has greatprospect of exploration and application.3. The indirect measurement of biomass attached on the magnetic carriers byninhydrin colorimetric method was studied. The optimal absorption wavelength,optimal digesting time, optimal cooling time and the optimal pH of buffer solutioniwas ascertained. The study shows that under the optimum conditions, the colorreaction absorbance of bacteria digested soup has a positive correlation with the biomass of bacteria.4. The results about immobilization of bacteria on functional silicon coveredmesoporou magnetic carriers got measured. The effect of adsorption time, inputquantity, temperature, pH value was discussed and the immobilization effect offunctional silicon covered mesoporou magnetic carriers was compared with those ofunfunctional silicon covered mesoporou magnetic carriers, the magnetite (Fe3O4)particles and active carbon. The results show that, when at the temperature of 45℃,pH=7, shaking at 200r/min for 24 hours, the effect about immobilization of bacteriawould be the most suitable.5. The tentative application in domestic wastewater was studied, and it showsthat the most suitable condition is pH=7, treating for 24h, input quantity of 0.5g.Under these of conditions, the removal ratio of COD can reach 82.7%, which is muchbetter than the bacterium liquid and the functional silicon covered mesoporoumagnetic carriers separately. The used functional silicon covered mesoporou magneticcarriers can get recovered by washing in HCl liquid, and then the efficiency of thetreatment to domestic wastewater can still reach 75.1%.
