Modern manufacturing industry has urgent need for the parts'high-precision machining, and the on-line inspection technology is an effective way to solve the problem. But it is often difficult to measure the form and position error by on-line measurement system nowadays.In order to solve these problems, an online dimension measurement system is designed and implementated in the paper. General Design processes are introduced firstly, which include the basic principle of online dimension measurement, the composition of system and software designing. And then the implement of functional models were described in detail and the test was made out to confirm the system.In this paper, the research on error analysis, as the most important techniques in developing system, is deeply discussed. The evaluate model based on the minimum region method is established. Two algorithm to calculate the roundness, flatness,and the cylindricity are compared and analyzed. The error computational programes are designed and a test is carried out to confirm the result.The research, development and application of the system which can improve the quality and efficiency of the components machining, will promote the development of the measurement integration technology.
