Owing to its high specific capability, TC4 was becoming popular for many critical engineering applications in national defense field such as aeronautic manufacture and spaceflight etc.In order to broaden its applications further,it necessary to develop suitable joining techniques. Diffusion bonding was one of processes that had the potential for the bonding of different materials without degrading their properties.The experiments that diffusion bonding enhanced by ultrasonic vibration had been carried out. The parameters such as bonding temperature, pressure, keeping time, ultrasonic frequency and their influence to bonding quality were investigated carefully. The samples bonded were observed by optical microscope. Experimental results show that 1Cr18Ni9Ti and TC4 were bonded well. Comparing diffusion bonding enhanced by ultrasonic vibration process to traditional diffusion bonding process, In TC4 diffusion bonding,interface aperture closed more effectively,and the bonding rate increased.In different metal diffusion bonding, ultrasonic vibration didn't reduce the width of transition layer that contains fracture intermetallics , and caused wave style bonding line .Optimal parameters were 900℃, 10MPa, 30min for TC4, and 880℃, 10MPa,20min are the proper parameters for TC4 and 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel. |
