The related problems of the Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar have been analyzed. And the shipping steel's constitutive relation has been tested using this apparatus. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) The finite element analysis has been used to simulate the SHPB system. The distribution of the axis stress in the compression specimen has been analyzed. On the basis of the method of computed the stress uneven, the uniformization time has been gained. The experiment results were confirmed that the uniformization time was agreed with the time of the reflected wave stability.(2) In the experiment of using the pulse shaper, a phenomenon that the incident wave was overlapped with the reflected wave has existed. So separated loading wave which was overlapped come true with two strain gage technology.(3) The dynamic property of the shipping steel has been tested using the SHPB. On the basis of Johnson-Cook model, the constitutive equation of the material has been found, and the parameters in J-C model have been corrected in order to describe the material property.
