Metallurgical industry plays a mainstay role in the national economy. In themetallurgical industry, the production of iron and steel is its important components andcontinuous casting industry is one of its key taches. How to heighten the productivity andimprove the quality of continuous casting has become a hot topic in the fields of steel research.Continuous casting is the main method to improve the productivity of the whole steel-makingprocess.The control of secondary cooling water is the best important of slab casting, it decidesthe produce processing and the quality.The main work is as followed. It introduced technological process and elaborated themain equipment and function for full curved caster. It presents a thorough analysis andresearch for the system structure and the main function of continuous casting automaticsystem. It analyses and improves the particle swarm optimization (PSO). Aiming at thepremature convergence and the easiness of getting into the local extremum point, we havemade the improved particle swarm optimization (IPSO) which is based on the changed scalechaos variation. In order to solve quality problem produced by secondary cooling waterdistribution in continuous casting, it adopted secondary cooling technology based on mistcooling patterns, and established slab coagulation model based on metallurgy criterion of slabcoagulation cooling. The secondary cooling water distribution of continuous casting in thecourse of optimization needs to consider two-dimensional direction of heat transfer.Furthermore, under the influence of smelting level and material tolerance insulation in thecasting process, the process of pouring is difficult to maintain constant temperature. So thesecondary cooling water optimization distribution based on IPSO is presented. It supplied anew effective method for intelligent optimal design of the secondary cooling waterdistribution of continuous casting. It also offered methods to process every parameter in model.It has a thorough research in dynamic secondary cooling control models. It not only makessecondary cooling automatic water distribution changing with steels, sectional size and dragsspeed, but also makes secondary cooling flow control more accurate, according to the difference of the superheat degree of liquid steel, calculated surface temperature and targettemperature. The surface and internal quality of slab has greatly improved.
