TiO2 is an important kind of inorganic functional material. Due to its high specific surface area, TiO2 has wide application prospect in several fields such as solar energy storage performances and utilization, photovoltaic conversion, photochromic and photo-catalytic degradation of atmospheric pollutant and water pollutant and so on.In this paper, titanium dioxide nanotubes(TDN) was synthesized by hydrothermal method and then the preparation of TDN was further discussed. The TDN were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-Vis optical property analysis(UV-Vis), transmission electron microscope(TEM), energy spectrum analysis etc..The nanoparticle TiO2 was prepared with tetrabutyl titanate(TNB)which are former material in the sol-gel process. Then TDN was synthesized by hydrothermal method, sucessfully. The nanoparticle TiO2 were doped by transition metals (W,Fe,Cr,Co,Pb,Cu). Using doped nanoparticle TiO2 as ormer material, the TDN were synthesized by hydrothermal method. photo-chemical catalysis activeness. Through X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope(TEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS),, and UV-Vis optical property analysis(UV-Vis) methods to the preparation and dope of samples, the factors affecting photocatalytic activity were discussed.The result of modern tests showed that: particle size of TiO2 is about 10.7nm, open-ends, multilayered structure, with high outer diameter. The TDN which synthesized by hydrothermal method had close nano-tube structure that is made multiplayer graphite piece. The TDN had obvious cluster and the doped ions had no effect on the pattern of TDN.The experiment results of degradation of methyl orange indicated that the prepared TDN had good photocatalytic activity. Different ions had different effect on the photocatalytic activity of the TDN: the one doped by W,Fe had better photocatalytsis activity. the one doped by Pb,Cu had no promotion on the activity. and the one doped by Cr,Co had bad effect on the photocatalytic activity.
