Traditional Tiffany technics originates at the end of 19th century. With sustained charm of Tiffany, the lamp of this style keeps to be a public favor. It would have far-reaching sense to design Tiffany style lamp by the way of computer-aid design. Therefore, in the field of Industrial Design, it is a highly-required subject to find a system or platform to fulfill redevelopoment of outstanding foreign design softwares in order to satisfy the need to design Tiffany style lamp.In this research, Rhino, a widely-used design software for Industrial Design, is studied. The scope, functional characteristic, plugins development condition of Rhino are studied. Moreover, the author has deeply studied various redevelopment interfaces of Rhino and compared the characteristics and scope of three current development methods (RhinoSrip, .NET Framework Plug-Ins, C++ Plug-Ins). This thesis has primarily studied the redevelopment methods of RhinoScript, such as layout, data storing, application, interfacing, macro and functions offered by Rhino. In addition, this thesis has studied the manual design method of Tiffany style lamp. Based on the manual method, seven procedures are summaried. According to theses procedures, seven related design tools are defined and fulfilled by RhinoScript. In order to develop new tools, the author defined the arithmetic at first,then studied the parameter,return and using method of some functions which are used mainly in developing new tools.Finally, this thesis has applied the result of above research to develop a group of new tools, which includes tool group of drawing, tool group of colour adding, and tool group of material pasting, for Rhino development. The group of tools is practical and applied. Also, an example has been used to demonstrate the new tools help enhance design for Tiffany style lamps, lessen workload of designers. Therefore, this study has practical sense.
