Based on the analysis of NC drill grinder in existence,the project that restructure t he primary NC system by open NC structure,which based on the PC is designed,the str ucturethat the hardware of the-NC system is used -for drill grinderis adopted,the design t hinking of the software of the open NC system aiming at the drill grinder is advanced,t he whole stmcture of the software isanalysed.In addition,aimed at the deficiency of the traditional drill orientation method in dri 11 grinder,this article demonstrates the feasibilitythat realize the drill orienta-tion by co mputer vision technology,analyses the primary principle of drill vision orientation,put f orward the measure of vision orientation in drill grinder,meanwhile,analyses the vision detection measure for helix angle,bring forward the calculational methods of helix angle based on computer vision based on the above,image processing technology used in drill vision orientation is researched,imagepro-cessing technology used in drill vision orient ation is re-searched,image enhancement,edge detection and line thinning are analysed,es pecially,the edge detection arithmeticwhich works on the orientation precision is analys ed emphasily is concluded finally,the part paramteters of vidicon are demar-cated,the fa ctors that effect the drill orientation preci-sion are analysed,the correlative measures are advanced.According to the principles of drill vision orientation and image processing anithm etic,this article develops thesoftware module for drill orientation based on the computer vision which is integrated in the software of NC system,in which the functions of drill i mage,processing of and strate-gy of drill orientation are realized.
