At the present time,there are two types in the system of taking and letting circulation cooling water,one is circulating water supply system the other is direct drainage system.Currently cooling cooling-down method is applied to power plants,as a result,thermal effect and water quality effect can be produced to the region of water discharge.The cooling water from the direct drainage system is common called thermal discharge.It may increase 6~14℃to the water temperature when the thermal discharge let to the nature water,which have effects on the organism in the water directly and indirectly.These effects are usually called heat effects,which including good effects and harmful effects. The harmful effects are also called heat pollution,which may do harm to all lifecycle of the organism in the water.The article report its influence to Kuli Pool during the 20 years that Changshan heating and power plant had operated, and made a corpaned research., with the method of investigating the aquatic organisms in Kuli Pool and its control water (Lingjiao Pool) from May 2006 to January 2007, and analyzing the status of aquatic organisms in Kuli Pool now, combining with the date of heat effect research that Northeast Normal University had made in 1980s.The result indicate that: in the 20 years that Changshan heating and power plant has operated, thermal discharge has already affected Kuli Pool strongly.(1)Compared with 1980s, there are more kinds of phytoplankton in Kuli Pool, but compared with control water, the density and quality biomass of phytoplankton has decreased; the biomass and density of zooplankton are all less than the control water in spring and summer, the plankton became succession.(2)Bait organisms in Kuli Pool are not as rich as its contrast water, varieties zoobenthos change strongly, we can only find mollusk in strongly temperature increasing area, the density and biomass of zoobenthos are less than that in 1980s.(3)The growth speed of four kinds of fishes are not as good as 1980s. It indicates that the long time effect of power plant had already affected the growth of fish strongly, after more than 20 years heat pollution effect, the growth of fish is much worse than before.
