With the increase of the energy demand in the world and the development of drilling technology, the drilling of the deep well and ultra deep well will become an important aspect of the petroleum industry in the whole world. And well drilling work requires more and more strict to integrative performance of the regulator of drilling fluid, so the existed regulators can't already satisfy the demand at all. And there are huge storage of better quality humic acid which is not taken full utilization in China, resulting in severe resource waste. With the opinion of effective utilization of the natural humic resource and satisfying the demands of drilling work, the humic acid extraction technology and the synthesis of aminated humic acid , sulfonated humic acid and poly-sulfonated humic acid as regulator of drilling fluid was studied. The sets of drilling fluid system which has excellent high temperature resistance, viscosity reducing and filtration reducing property was founded. After that, the ability of high temperature resistance, viscosity reducing and filtration reducing property of the regulator has been evaluated. Based on the above study, the further study on viscosity reducing mechanism and filtration reducing mechanism is also set up.Experiments' result express: The new synthesis technology of the sulfurnated humic acid as regulator of drilling fluid is more advanced.This new sulfonated humic acid shows higher crystalline order and more sulfonic than the traditional one.This new sulfonated humic acid drilling system can commendably drop the viscosity and losing water in drilling fluid, and their high temperature resistance performance is excellent. The resistant ability to high temperature of this new sulfonated humic acid drilling fluid is above 150℃and the viscosity reduction rate is 53.5%. When it is filled to drilling fluid the losing water is only 9.7 ml. They also have good compatibility with various surfactant being used now. The structure and properties is analyzed by XRD,IR,TG,TEM. the diameter is about 27.66 nm. And FT-IR spectra testing results discover the dramatical changing of IR peak intensity of O-S which has proved the implantation of sulfuric group to humic acid molecule. This new kind of sulfonated humic acid begins to decompose at the temperature of 390℃detecting by TG—DTA which means having a good stability. They have good development prospect because of the excellent performance Contrasted with the same production inland.
