Metal-polysilicate complex coagulant (MPS) is a new type of agent for water treatment. Its preparation and development have become the current focus and frontier of study on inorganic polymeric coagulants, and obtained wide attention at home and abroad. But, up to now, there are some unresolved problems for MPS's productive application such as how to enhance the content of effective composition, the coagulation efficiency, prolong its storage time and explain its coagulation mechanism. This study was carried out systematically in basic research, which can provide the basis for polysilicate ferric aluminum PSFA practical use.Used one-step process to prepare the coagulant PSFA, then researched its coagulation performance prepared in different conditions so as to verify the optimal processing condition of this coagulant: natural temperature, M(Fe2SO4+Al2SO4)=200g/L, (Fe+Al):Si=5:1 , Fe:Al=1:1 , pH=2.0. The coagulant prepared in this condition had excellent performance and can be stored for a long time.Used the prepared PSFA to simulate the removal effect in dealing with natural water contained little organic pollutants, and researched the influence of dosage of coagulant and pH to the removal effect, and verified the optimal treatment conditions. It showed by the results that PSFA had better removal effect of organics and turbidity than ferric sulfate and polymerized ferric sulfate.Analyzed the conductivity of PSFA and the morphogenetic contribution of ferri and silicon, and introduced its coagulation mechanism.
