In this paper, using ferrocene and the catalyzer anhydrous aluminium chloride, four double substitutional arene-Cp iron salts were synthesized including [di[Cp-Fe]-diphenylether]PF6, [di[Cp-Fe]-biphenyl]PF6, [di[Cp-Fe]-N-ethylcarbazole]PF6, [di[Cp-Fe]-carbazole]PF6 which were compared with single substitutional arene-Cp iron salts. In addition, their structures were identified by 1H-NMR和IR.The UV-Vis absorption of arene-Cp iron salts in acetonitrile were studied. And the molar extinction coefficients were determined. Thereinto the light absorption above 300nm caused by d-d transition of arene-Cp iron salts make them suitable with high pressure Hg lamp which is usually used in the photo-curing. Compared with single substitutional arene-Cp iron salts, the absorbency and the molar extinction coefficients of double substitutional arene-Cp iron salts are higher. In addition, compared with I-261, the light absorption above 250nm and 390nm caused by d-d transition of arene-Cp iron salts moves to about 270nm and 410nm, and the molar extinction coeffients doubles. The photolysis of arene-Cp iron salts in acetonitrile by ultraviolet radiation were studied. And we find that the UV-Vis absorption of arene-Cp iron salts changed with the radiation time prolonging. The light absorption above 250nm weakened but it strengthened above 390nm和460nm with the radiation time prolonging.
