The aim of the present work is to invent an effective catalyst which can beused in the epoxidation of propylene. Titanium, Vanadate, molybdate andtungstate are considered as active parts and have been successfullyintercalated into Layered Double Hydroxides(LDHs) to obtain the catalystslayered precursor. In this paper, we synthesized the Mg-Al-Ti-LDHs by usingcoprecipitation method performed with a solution of NaOH as precipitator. The catalysts precursor can be obtained through ion exchange method. Theresulting structure and the intercalated material have been studied by X-raydiffraction (XRD), FT-IR, BET, TG-DTA and XPS. The results showed thatthe MoO42-,VO3-,[P(W2O7)6]7- and WO42- anion have intercalated within theLDHs interlayer without modifying its original structure. We also investigatedthe synthesis method and the structure of the catalysts precursor.APter calcination, the active part of the intercalated compoundscontaining catalysts was tested by epoxy reaction of propylene. The results ofthe reactions showed that the series catalysts were all very effective for theepoxidation of propylene. The best catalysts are chosen based on the results of the reactions, and it turned out to be that the compounds contain molybdenumafter calcined lead to the best performance.
