The development and application of chemometric multivariate curve resolution in recent yearsare reviewed in this article. These methods are mainly evolving factor analysis (EFA), iterativetarget transformation factor analysis (ITTFA), window factor analysis (WFA), heuristic evolvinglatent projections (HELP), simple-to-use interactive self-modeling mixture analysis (SIMPLISMA),orthogonal projection approach (OPA), orthogonal projection resolution (OPR) and alternatingleast-squares (ALS). Moreover, these methods are applied in resolution of the two-dimensional dataobtained by high performance liquid chromatograph with diode array detection (HPLC-DAD), highperformance liquid chromatograph with fluorescence detection (HPLC-FLD) and spectroscopictitration to resolve the problem of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis of complex systemby chemometric "mathematic separation" approach. In the first chapter, the development and application of chemometric multivariate curveresolution are summarized. The development and application of the algorithms of multivariatecurve resolution in recent years are reviewed. In the second chapter, ethylbenzene and xylene were determined using HPLC-DAD, thetwo-dimensional HPLC-DAD data were collected and processed by HELP and ALS techniques, theoverlapping chromatographic peaks of ethylbenzene and xylene isomers were resolved based on theslight difference of their spectra. This method was successfully applied in determination ofethylbenzene and xylene isomers in air environment. In the third chapter, the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were determined usingHPLC-DAD and HPLC-FLD, the two-dimensional HPLC-FLD data of fluoren, Acenaphthene, phenanthren, indeno [1, 2, 3-cd] pyrene and benzo [g, h, i] perylene were collected, and theiroverlapped chromatographic peaks were resolved using HELP technique. This method was appliedin determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in environmental samples. In the fourth chapter, the ionization constants of 4-(2-pyridilazo)-resorcinol (PAR) weredetermined by spectroscopic titration method, EFA and OPA combined with ALS respectively wereused to process the spectroscopic titration data of PAR, the distribution curve and pure spectra of allforms of PAR in water were resolved and the ionization constants were calculated.
