Aerosol Can is a kind of airproof package container, which is usually made of tinplate and aluminium, the manufacture of its coping needs complicated technics, multi-step forming is often adopted. Recent years, with the rapid growth of the price of tinplate, the manufacturers of can in home and overseas have to look for countermeasure to reduce the cost, and one of which is reducing the thickness of the coping. By using the FEM software DYNAFORM and the basic theory of FEM and practical production status in sheet metal forming, the mold and parameters and characters of the coping forming of Aerosol Can were gained. In this paper, the influence of materials and reducing thickness to the performance of the blank is also discussed, the aim of which is to provide the paractical production with theoretical guidance.There are several researches in this paper, as follows mostly:1. According to the practical structure and production of the coping, its plastic forming was analysed by using simulation. Two cases A and B were compared; the more proper one was choosed.2. Based on the case B, the mold and the processing were optimized until they are more proper to the practical production.3. The influence of reducing thickness to the performance of the blank is discussed by the numerical calculation of material T2BA of different thickness.4. The calculation of material T3, T4CA, T2BA, T2.5BA and DQSK of different thickness for every step was done, and the mix influence of materials and thickness was analysed.5. The coping forming of twice size in same scale of blank and tools was calculated, the character of it was also disscused, which is order to provide a new technique direction to the design of mould of different size.6. The problem of using the file dynain in the multi-step sheet metal forming numerical simulation was dicussed at last.
