B.mori silk fibers is a kind of natural protein fiber composed of 18 amino acids. Glycin has some natural health protections. with the improvement of living standards, and serious pollution, demand for health protections of the various fibers raise gradually. The antibacterial finishing on silk fibers as a new object for research will become more important.Silk fibers were pretreated by tannic acid (TA) solution then modified by silver ions solution in this paper. The optimum treatment processes of tannic acid and the factors on the silver ions adsorption properties were investigated. The results showed that the weight of silk fibers increased after tannic acid treatment. The treatment effect is best When silk fibers were treated with TA of pH at 3 and temperature at 70℃for 40min. By adjusting the concentration of TA, different weight gain samples could be gained. The results also showed that pH value of the silver solution and TA-weight gain had significantly impacted the ability of silk fibers to absorb silver ions. The second-weight-gain enchanced with TA-weight gain increasing, and Silk fibers got the maximal second-weight-gain when pH at 8.Scanning electron microscope, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X–ray diffraction, Thermoanalysis were used to analyze microstructure and aggregation structure of silk fibers. The amouts of silver ions absorbed by silk fibers and its combination manner with fibers were investigated by ICP-AES and XPS. Meanwhile, The antibacterial activity of silver-containing silk fibers was preliminarily evaluated by qualitative and quantitative methods. The mechanical properties of modified silk fibers was also been tested. The results showed that inner aggregation of silk fibers has trend ofβ-sheet, crystallinity decrased slightly, little changed of its thermostability. At the same time, the breaking strength and extension of the silk fibers also changed after the treatment. The...
