Because of the special characters of nanoparticles, the study of nanoparticles has been the hotspot of material subject research in recent years. The composite material which has many functions and high performance can be manufacture by appropriate proportioning of allsorts of nanoparticles and all kinds of polymer. On account of the specific surface area of nanoparticles is big and the surface energy of nanoparticle is high, the nanoparticles are easy to reunite. Therefore, Advancing the disperse of the nanoparticles blended with polymer is the key to prepare nanocomposites. In this study, nanometer SiO2 particles which have the fantastic physical and chemic characters were blended with PET by Solution blending .The surface of nanometer SiO2 powders were modified by using different coupling agents, surface active agents and using the coupling agent and surface active agent blended. Spectrophotometer, nanometer diameter, ovening and SEM methods were adopted to token the dispersed effect of nanometer SiO2 powders. Results show that the different of the reagent species and amount is largely influential to the dispersed effect. The dispersed effect is more obvious, which can be achieved by using the coupling agent and surface active agent .The modified SiO2 nanocomposites were blended with PET by solution blending to prepare PET/nano-SiO2 composites. The effect of coupler content on the morphology and properties of the PET/nano-SiO2 composites and the disperse of the nana- SiO2 in the PET/nano-SiO2 composites was investigated by using intrinsic viscosity, melting point, SEM,FT-IR,TG and XRD. The results showed that the chemical composition of PET was not changed by the solution blending, the modified PET has changed into crystalline polymer. When the content of SiO2 nanoparticels was 1~3%(wt), SiO2 nanocomposites were preferable dispersed in the PET and SiO2 nanocomposites were separated by nano-size in the PET. The intrinsic viscosity, melting point and thermal stability of the PET/nano-SiO2 composites goes up.
