Based on actual engineering background and all the current measuring methods,this paper proposes a new plate flatness measuring method. We get the data of everyallocated point on the plate all by slab bridge and level meter, and save them into thelevel meter; Then transfer the data to PC when one or more plates have been measured;And after that, we finish the coordinate conversion in PC and evaluate the flatnesserror with method of least square method; At last, we print the journal sheet. Themethod used in this paper can solve drawbacks of classical plate measuring methods,such as large quantity calculation, low accuracy etc.In order to solve the problem of data inputting by hand which is high complex,this system saves measured data automatically by level meter's extendedreadable/writable memory and circumscribed control panel which can realize real-timecontrol of data collected; Data collection and data handling are separated accomplishedin this paper, and this processing mode can solve the problem that PC can't be easilymoved at any time; Using RS-232 serial communication technology, we achieve thedesign of serial communication software, and fulfill the data transfer from level meterto the computer.The plate flatness measuring system studied in this topic finishes the developmentand the design of database. The database can save original data and processed data atthe same time, can guarantee the link between data and the journal sheet. And theinquiry of account can still be done through this database. The software in this paper isfulfilled by using of Visual C#, and it can achieve coordinate conversion andprocessing of the data read by level meter. And still we can draw plates'three-dimensional plots in fluctuation shape, compare the actual flatness error withISO standard error tolerance, determine the detected plate's grade and print the result.Through large quantity of experiments done on granite worktable, we prove that this system is stable and reliable, easily manipulated, and with high accuracy, so it cancompletely meets the requirement of assignment.
