Along with the high-speed development of the chemical industry, safety evaluation has become the important link of the modern safety production and management. The choice of evaluation method is the key of safety evaluation, which influences evaluation effect, has the importance of enhancing evaluation quality and ensuring safety in production.Firstly based on the polestar of the safety system engineering, several widely-applied safety analysis and evaluation approaches are concisely summarized; their advantages and drawbacks are pointed out at the same time. Then the feasibility that artificial nerve network technique is applied in safety evaluation of the chemical industry is discussed. The safety evaluation of chemical industry basing on artificial nerve network is brought forward.Secondly following the scientific and systematic principle, starting from the human-machinery-environment point of view, considering nonlinear factors adequately, a safety evaluation index system of the chemical industry is established. In safety assessment index system, a good many important factors of chemical industry safety production are embodied. At the same time, quantification chart of evaluation index is worked out. Then with the principal component analysis, the evaluation index system is predigested.Lastly based on former study, combined with safety evaluation index system and safe status data of DaHua Group synthetic ammoria workshop section, BP network non-linear model based on nerve network technology is made up; the software used in evaluating the model is opened out with powerful calculation and videotex function of MATLAB.The safety system engineering, the artificial nerve network (ANN), principal component analysis and the MATLAB toolbox are combined together to offer a more effective approach and method for chemical industry safety management and scientific decision, and scientific reasonable, qualitative and quantitative safety evaluation of safety evaluation institution.
