Proteins are a group of complex organic macromolecules, which are vital to every living cell. We study the electrochemical response and electro-catalyze property of redox proteins by using the electrochemical method. Therefore, we can understand the electron transfer mechanism and biological function in vivo. So, it is significant for theory and practice to construct biosensor and bioreactor. In this paper, we prepared different modified Au electrode based on unique properties of nanoparticles and mimetic biomembrane characteristic of surfactants. Using these modified electrodes, we investigated direct electrochemistry of some redox proteins, such as hemoglobin and myoglobin, and their interaction with some drugs. It contains:In the first part, we synthesized PAM-CdS nanoparticles and successfully embellished it on Au electrode surface. We studied the electrochemical behavior of hemoglobin on the modified electrode and investigated the interaction between hemoglobin and ribavirin by electrochemistry and spectrum methods. In the second part, cetylpyridinium bromide/single-wall carbon nanotubes modified Au electrode was prepared. The electrochemical property of the modified electrode was extensively investigated. Using this electrode, the interaction between hemoglobin and acyclovir was studied. In the third part, direct electrochistry of myoglobin was studied on chitosan/SWNTs film modified Au electrode. The interaction between myoglobin and cimetidine was investigated by electrochemistry method. In the fourth part, we prepared poly(3-(3-pyridyl) acrylic acid) film modified electrode to study electrochemical behavior of dopamine, ascorbic acid and uric acid. Poly(3-(3-pyridyl) acrylic acid) film modified glassy carbon electrode can well differentiate dopamine, ascorbic acid and uric acid, so we use it to simultaneously determine dopamine, ascorbic acid and uric acid.
