Block Ng37, PAN 40 is a heavy oil reservoir with bottom water. Due to the active bottom water, serious heterogeneity, poor oil properties, at present there is no effective methods to tap the remaining oil of such heavy oil reservoir with bottom water. Based on the thorough understanding of the development law, development problems and the adjustment direction of the heavy oil reservoir with bottom water, the paper carried out the research of enhanced oil recovery from the main method and principles aspects.Based on the researches above mentioned, the paper took the Ng37 block, PAN 40 as an example to systematically study the development status and the distribution of remaining oil by combining the reservoir engineering method with numerical simulation. It is indicated that the oil recovery is very low, the relationship between oil and water is very complicated, and the remaining oil is accumulated. And it is the active bottom water and poor mobility of oil that result in the poor oil recovery. Aimed at the active bottom water, and based on the researches on the development mechanism of reservoir with bottom water, the paper applied the analytical and numerical simulation method to carry out the study of water control on single well, in which the critical oil production, pressure difference, perforation and well completion intervals, and the time of water breakthrough are determined. These jobs can provide guidance for the further study of parameters design. Aimed at the characteristics of the poor properties of oil, the paper carried out the experiments of hot water flooding. With the understanding of different development models, it can guide the selection of different driving method. As far as the above is concerned, the paper optimized the adjustment scheme for the Ng37 block, PAN 40.
