The research on structure and property of metal coordination complexes of bis(pyrazoly)alkanes not only riches theory and practice of coordination chemistry, but also extends the application prospect for the compounds in optics, magnetics, catalysis and biology simulation. In this thesis we report the preparation of ten novel metal coordination complexes of dmpzm. These complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, thermal analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The magnetic properties of 3 and 4 were also investigated.1. Synthesis and characterization of two lead complexes of dmpzm, [Pb(dmpzm)2(NO3)2] (1) and [ Pb(dmpzm)2(ClO4)2] (2). Both compounds are mononuclear with a distorted square antiprismatic PbN4O4 coordination geometry.2. Synthesis and characterization of four cobalt complexes of dmpzm, [Co(dmpzm)Cl2] (3), [Co(dmpzm)(dca)2]n (4), [Co2(dmpzm)4(maleato)](ClO4)2·3H2O (5) and [Co2(dmpzm)4(fumarato)] (ClO4)2·2CH3OH (6). 3 is a mononuclear adduct. Treatment of 3 with sodium dicyanamide (dca) afforded a 2D polymeric complex 4. 5 and 6 are binuclear complexes based on the mixed N- and O-donor ligands.3. Synthesis and characterization of four nickel complexes of dmpzm, [Ni(dmpzm)2(H2O)2](ClO4)2 (7), [Ni2(dmpzm)4(dca)2] (ClO4)2 (8), [Ni(dmpzm)2 (HCOO)]Cl·2H2O(9)and [Ni(dmpzm)2OAc]Cl·3H2O (10). 7 is a mononuclear adduct. Treatment of 7 with dca afforded a binuclear complex 8. 9 and 10 are mononuclear compounds based on the mixed N- and O-donor ligands.
