| The compatibility between PVC and ABS was mainly discussed in thisdissertation. Meanwhile, the effects of the processing conditions, the types of ABS, thedegree of polymerization of PVC, the different kinds of compatibilizers on mechanicalproperties, thermal properties, compatibility of ABS/PVC blends were studied. At last,the PVC/ABS alloy with high performances was abtained which can meet therequirements of panels in automobiles.Two types of PVC resins (SG-3 and SG-5) with different contents of platicizers(DOP) were blended respectively with three types ABS (PA747, PA727 and 750)according to different recipes. Through tests about tensile strength, impact strength,thermal deformation and rheological property, the best recipe of PVC/ABS blends wasfinally decided, which includs 40phr of DOP, PVC (SG-3), ABS (PA747) and so on.The results also showed that the performances of PVC/ABS blends are relevant to it'scompositions. When the blend ratio of PVC/ABS is 70/30 the performance is superiorto others'. And the performance of PVC (SG-3)/ABS (PA747) (70/30) blends is thebest of all. The DSC method and SEM method were also used in study oncompatibility and the section structure of PVC/ABS blends.Although the solubility parameters of PVC and ABS are very close to each other,the results showed PVC/ABS blends is semi-compatibility system. So the thirdcomponent (such as CPE, NBR, ACR) were added into PVC/ABS (70/30) blends toimprove the compatibility of PVC and ABS. The behaviers of the alloy can beimproved when CPE, NBR and ACR were added into the original blending systemwith proper contents. The results by DSC and SEM also proved that the compatibilityof PVC/ABS could be improved when the third component was added with propercontents. |
