In the chemical industry, the rectifying process is the most common method inseparating mutually mixed solution, also is the primary units of energy-consuming.Distillation heat-integration is an important way to energy conservation during therectifying processes, and heat pump distillation process is one of the most potentialtechniques of energy-saving. Therefore, heat pump distillation has important practicalsignificance for reducing the energy consumption and costs to enhance economicefficiency in the distillation process.Heat pump distillation not only can provide cold energy for the top of the tower,but also provide heat energy for the bottom of the tower, which have importantsignificance to energy conservation in the rectifying process. The application of heatpump distillation in the production process is difficult. This paper based on theprinciples of heat pump distillation and characteristics of various heat pump distillationprocesses, through case studing, applicating the ideological which the complexproblem can be decomposed into some independent problems, strategy of constructionheat pump distillation.is proposed.By soluting each level respectively, which makecomplex of construcing heat pump distillation process to be a better solution.By analyzing the thermodynamic properties of conventional distillation and heatpump distillation, mathematical model and computational method is established. Byoptimizing method of designing various structures, the most costeffective isdetermined. Economic evaluation criteria is established for determing scheme ofintegration. The strategy and optimizating algorithm is applied to achieve superior heatpump distillation processes.Based on characteristics of crude benzene ethylene tower and the ethyl-benzene and proposed strategy of heat pump distillation, two towers have been carried onflow-simulation on heat pump distillation flows. Crude benzene ethylene tower issuitable for form-opened A heat pump distillation by strategic analysis, using thisprocess can increase in one-time investments 5,775,000RMB, but save energy 83.7%,total economic benefits increased 16,078,000 RMB/year. Ethylbenzene recyclingdistillation have large difference in temperature (41.7℃) bettwen bottom and top, heatpump is not suitable for distillation processes, do not obtain excellent economicbenefits after simulating The results verify the establishment of the proposed strategyand algorithm of optimizing design to produce the superior flowsheet of heat pumpdistillation.
