The reserves of heavy oil is very rich in our country, and the puff and huff is the main exploiting method of the heavy oil reservoir at present. Because of the complicate system engineering of the puff and huff, it becomes inefficient or invalid on some heavy oil reservoirs. Based on the problem that there is no detailed select rules of the thin and heavy oil reservoir for the application of puff and huff and the development situation of the mechanism, affect factors, economy bounds and the select rule for the using of puff and huff on the heavy oil reservoir over the world, the individual well cumulative oil production, periodical oil/gas ratio and high-point daily oil production economy bound indexes are built, using the reservoir engineering analysis techniques and the theory of making both ends meet. With this understanding the affect rules and the responsiveness between the exploitation effects of the puff and huff on the heavy oil reservoir and the affect factors, which including crude oil viscosity, oil layer thickness, porosity, permeability, oil saturation, effective thickness dividing sand thickness and reservoir depth, are analyzed, using the reservoir numerical simulation technique and the gray correlation method separately. And according to the economy bound indexs of individual well cumulative oil production, the economy bounds of the eight affecting factors are studied such as the crude oil viscosity, oil layer thickness and so on, and accordingly the select rules of these factors of the application of huff and puff on the thin and heavy oil reservoirs are built. Based on the study above, the affect rules of steaming parameters in the representative block Ch373 of ShengLi oil field are studied and the parameters are optimized, and it is manifested that the high efficiency exploitation is present on the selected wells by the practical application. The studies present an important theory foundation to recognise the effect of the geology, fluid and steaming parameters on the production of puff and huff, and to evaluate the applicability of puff and huff on the thin and heavy oil reservoir, which has great direction significance for the exploitation of the similar reservoirs.
