Selecting the favorable well and layer for fracturing is a chief way to reduce the risk and increase economic profit. Now experience is often used in selecting the optimistic well and layer for fracturing, but it cannot avoid the blindness and subjectivity. In this paper, at the base of literature investigation and study, some theories and methods of selecting wells and layers at home and broad are studied, including fuzzy method, artificial nerve network method, fuzzy neural network system, economic lower limit and so on, and application procedure is established for these methods. By statistics and analysis, the influence of reservoir parameters on fracturing response is researched,the sensitivity of these parameters is analyzed,and weight determination of every parameter is discussed. In view of cases of fracturing treatment in Qigequan oilfield with low porosity, low permeability and thin multi-layers, three methods including fuzzy recognition theory, comprehensive identification fuzzy theory and artificial nerve network are used to select well and layer for fracturing, and the application result and characteristics of them are compared. At last, a method that is proper to Qigequan oilfield is proposed. And practice of treatment indicates that wells and layers selected by this method have largely increased production. The setting up of methods realized the quantitative optimization of well and layer for fracturing, and lays the foundation for highly efficient development of Qigequan oilfield.
