Abstract/Summary:
With the booming improvement of people's living standard and rapid development of science and technology, people have put forward higher request for apparels. Comfort and hygiene of the garment have already become people's primary pre-requisite. Ramie and flax fabrics are greatly favored by people for their excellent performance, such as air permeable, absorb, rigidity, cool and hygienic properties such as anti-bacteria, anti-static and ultraviolet-proof.Compared with flax and ramie, jute fibre is more coarse, harder and lower elastic because of the high content of lignin in it, so it is more difficult in spinning and weaving, particularly in knitting.In this article, we discussed the process of how to prepare the cross linker of epoxy compounds firstly. Then the effect of modification on jute fiber on the base of epoxy compounds those have the functional group of epoxy were researched. Besides, the comparing experiment with oxalic acid as the cross linker which is bi-functional compounds were designed. The change of jute fiber performance on strength, elongation and softness were analyzed. The relations between process parameters and performance indicator's changes, and the changes of the microscopic structure of the fiber were inspected. Orthogonal test conclusions that the best modified programme is the amount of 2% crosslinking agent, curing time of 5 min, curing temperature of 130℃.Because the way of degumming with alkali have to use large amout of alkaline, which will cause more serious pollution to the environment. Therefore, crosslinker modification on the base of degumming both with alkaline and oxygen was studied.Tensile properties and the influence on the soften of jute fiber after modification were explored. So the best technology condition was found and good results were received.After discussing, the best programmes of dugumming with alkali and oxygen were consumption by 6% in a bath. results of modification with oxalic acid and epoxy compounds on this basis showed that the effect on the jute fiber after modification with epoxy compounds is better.Then the amount of crosslinking agent (from 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%), crosslinking time (from 1 min, 3 min, 5 min, 7 min) and crosslinking temperature (from 120℃, 130℃, 140℃, 150℃) were comparativly analiyzed After analysis how the three factors of dosage, time and temperature have played their roles on the impact of modification. Finally, this experiment come to a dicision that dosage of cross linker is 3%, deal time is about three to five minutes and deal temperature is at 130℃.Finally, this process of modification was applied into kenaf fiber, the parameters were adjust and the results were analyzed.After the modification process in the reasonable conditions of above-mentioned, the performance of jute fibers has a certain improvement in the softness, and it has laid the foundation for the further study.
