Polysulfonamide (PSA) Fiber is a kind of high temperature resistant fiber, which has China's independent intellectual property rights. This paper mainly discusses about its mechanics performances, and compares them to the high temperature treated fiber. Meanwhile, also discusses on PSA nonwoven materials' high temperature performance. This paper focus on the breaking strength changes which include both fiber and felt after high temperature treating. This issue analyzes the high temperature performance of PSA fiber, especially on its breaking strength after high temperature treating. Through the Infrared Spectroscopy Instrument and X-Ray Diffract meter testing report, the molecule interior structure of PSA fiber do not have obvious changes, and the phenomenon is resulted from the synthesizing effect of both crystallinity and orientation, in which the former is the key effect.Furthermore, this issue analyzes the character of the PSA nonwoven felt, including area density, thickness, breaking strength, air permeability and aperture. All the testing results indicate that PSA felt is well suited for the high temperature condition. The heat treated sample's breaking strength is increased obviously. And for explaining this phenomenon it is necessary to design a new experiment, which makes samples with different needle densities. The testing report indicates that breaking strength of PSA nonwoven felts are still increasing, and the increasing rate corresponds with the increasing densities of needle punching. The result can not be explained by the existing nonwovens theory, so it is necessary to go further research.
